  Before diving right into the perfume description for this scent that I’m immensely proud of creating I want to take the time to express the joy inside this project and the absolute Niagara of meaning I stumbled across when making this perfume. Creating a perfume is hard. Creating a good perfume is like inscribing the lyrics of every Helena Pop song onto a grain of sand. This task of gradually listening to each song on the album and then going into my little world of scents helped me out of a very rough personal hell that we humans call “a depressive episode”. In a way this album played a role in me becoming less mentally shipwrecked and I’m hoping you can in a sense smell the wholeheartedness in this fragrance. “Fuck you nothing, I’m gonna be something!” – Helena Pop
  
  “A Little Human Connection by Helena Pop” is a scent interpretation of Helena Pop’s new album. Clancy used his synaesthesia to translate the different songs into scents and then blended these ideas together into a final creation. This fragrance focusses on the songs: Little Thunder, Nietzsche’s Not My Teacher, and Sex Dream among others. The lead singers voice is really the core of the whole scent and comes across with the use of Venezuelan Tonka Bean which smells of hay and marzipan from another planet. Notes of new leather, hay and Australian sandalwood are present to evoke the feeling and imagery of being in rural Australia. Almost no flowers were used in this fragrance except for the gestural use of a very real and very rare violet flower extract which is morphed with goji berry to give the scent a sense of fragility and vulnerability. Put simply, this scent is as soft and intimate as the first time you really held someone, and as hard as concrete at the same time. I like to think that this perfume reminds us that if we can just let what’s inside ourselves out into the world, then in some small way we’re already free.
